Study Guide for the Hidden Words of Bahá'u'lláh
by Mark Miller
of the Maxwell International Bahá'í School, B.C.
This work book provides a question and answer format for deepening our understanding of this incredible "little" book. One Hidden Word to a page, with exercises and questions. Ideal for classes, small or large groups, individual study, and especially beginning Bahá'ís.
"Of course,
the actual instruction of The Hidden Words will be as diverse as the individualswho attempt it. It is imperative that the full range of creative and stimulating techniques be used by teachers in order to take full advantage of individual talent as well as to maintain student interest. It is hoped that this Study Guide will represent a springboard to creativity and excitement and will not be seen as an isolated technique, but will be viewed as a particular element in a broader program.
Included in this Study Guide are some textual references dealing with the history of the writing of The Hidden Words, along with some information dealing with interpretation of particular Hidden Words and references which encourage its study. It is hoped that this Study Guide will be of use to students of all ages, however, it was written with an older teen-age and adult audience in mind . . . [and] might reflect the experience of those using it in a variety of settings: children's education, summer schools, conferences or institutes, and international educational settings." Mark Miller
Originally from California, Mark Miller began his thirty year teaching career in Saskatchewan, Canada, the last fifteen years at the Maxwell Intemational Bahá'í School, located at Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia. Teaching English, History, Social Studies, and Acting has still left him some time to coach the basketball team, produce graduation plays, and "attend a gazillion meetings every week".
His classroom experience with grades 2 to 12 has enabled him to break down the study of The Hidden Words into smaller manageable pieces, in a workbook format suitable for both young adults, and beginning Bahá'ís of all ages.
